Arun Gupta |
|
Arun is a Partner at Columbia Capital, a leading venture capital firm based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Columbia Capital has been partnering with early-stage ventures to build communications and technology enterprises for more than twelve years. The firm has invested more than US$700 million in leading communications and technology ventures. Its most recent private equity fund of US$856 million was raised in August of 2000 bringing Columbia Capital's total dollars under management to $1.4 billion.
Arun joined Columbia Capital in September 2000 and focuses on enterprise data center infrastructure, including security, systems management, and storage opportunities. He is also involved in software services and outsourcing. Arun is currently a member of the Board of Directors or actively involved with Approva, BioNetrix, Brickstream, Infiniswitch, Netuitive, Riptech, and Reefedge. Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Arun was at Carlyle Venture Partners, where he specialized on investments in the Internet infrastructure and enterprise software areas. In addition, Arun was with Global Technology Ventures, the venture group of Arthur D. Little. Cumulatively, Arun has invested more than $60 Million in venture capital across approximately a dozen companies. Prior to his venturing work at ADL, Arun co-led ADL's entry into the Indian market and was responsible for opening and managing its operations in Mumbai, India.
Arun received a B.S. degree with Distinction in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. degree in Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University and received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is a Charter Member of the Indian CEO Council (organization devoted to entrepreneurship and networking with over 3000 senior executive members). |
